View ProfileFrequently Asked Questions About Bethzatha
Is Bethzatha open to all patients or do I need a referral?
Bethzatha General Hospital is open to all patients — no referral is required for outpatient consultations or emergency care. Walk-in patients are welcome at all times for emergency services, and appointments can be made online or by phone for specialist consultations.
Does Bethzatha accept insurance?
Yes. Bethzatha works with all major Ethiopian insurance providers including Ethio Life & General Insurance, Awash Insurance, and NYALA Insurance. We also work with international insurance companies for medical tourists and expatriates. Please bring your insurance card and pre-authorization letter when applicable.
How do I access my lab results?
Lab results are uploaded to your patient portal within 24 hours of processing. Register at bethzatha.com/patient-portal using your phone number. You will receive an OTP, log in, and immediately access your results — including individual test values with normal range comparisons, downloadable PDFs, and shareable links.
Is Bethzatha really ISO 15189 accredited?
Yes. Bethzatha's Advanced Medical Laboratory has held ISO 15189 accreditation since 2015, with the most recent renewal in 2023 — making it one of only a small number of private laboratories in Ethiopia to hold this internationally recognized quality standard.
Do doctors speak English at Bethzatha?
Most of Bethzatha's specialist physicians speak both Amharic and English. Several also speak other languages including French, Arabic, Oromo, and Tigrinya. If you have specific language requirements, mention this when booking and we will match you with the most appropriate specialist.
What makes Bethzatha different from other private hospitals in Addis Ababa?
Three key differentiators: (1) ISO 15189-accredited laboratory — the internationally recognized standard for diagnostic accuracy, held by very few private labs in Ethiopia. (2) Neurosurgery and Pediatric Oncology — specialist services typically only available at public teaching hospitals. (3) Our Electronic Medical Records system connects all departments, meaning your lab results, prescriptions, and follow-up appointments are visible to every care team member in real time.
